Thanks Pandora

I just thought that everyone should know that I've been jammin out hardcore to the Juliette and the Licks station on Pandora Radio, and the song Dull Life by Yeah Yeah Yeahs just came on and became my new favorite song....So heres a sweet ass picture that I took of Karen O at Bumbershoot...

Whip It!

Last night I went to see a free screening of the movie Whip It!, and it was way better than I expected. I thought it was going to be really cheesy, but I actually really liked it. It helps that it has a great cast of actresses that I love (Drew Barrymore, Ellen Page, Kristin Wiig, Alia Shawkat, and Juliette Lewis). Plus, it has Zoe Bell from Planet Terror (one of my favorite movies), and Eve. It also helps that roller derby is fucking cool. I've been wanting to see the Rat City Roller Girls forever, but I'm always broke as a joke whenever they're at Key Arena. Anyway, it was a total girly movie, but not a chick flick at all. There were plenty of XYs in the audience, and they were all laughing just as hard as us ladies. Also, Ellen Page and Alia Shawkat's characters really remind me a lot of me and some of my best friends, especially the part where Alia Shawkat blows in Ellen Page's face after she tells her that she smells. Aahh, memories of being the recipient of that...(damn you Chrissy, Deanna, Kiana, and Gina!). Well anyway, its a great movie and everyone should check it out.

Daria finally on DVD

Today I found out some excellent news...I found out that one of my favorite shows from my childhood is finally coming out on DVD! I haven't been this excited since they started showing reruns of it on The N. I am kind of bummed that I have to wait until next year, but at least its finally happening. Now I won't have to watch everyone's favorite Beavis and Butthead spin-off on anymore...

Nightmare on Elm Street trailer!!!

After waiting for what feels like forever just to catch a glimpse of what Jackie Earle Haley looks like as Freddy Krueger... I finally get to...and its in the trailer! Usually horror film remakes suck major ass (with Dawn of the Dead as an exception, I love Zack Snyder), but this one actually looks pretty good...And out of all the people they could've chosen to follow Robert Englund, I'm glad that they chose Jackie Earle Haley, who is an amazing actor. Can't wait to see this!

Jim and Pam

When I checked my mail this morning...I got really excited when I saw that not only did I get my Entertainment Weekly, but Jim and Pam, my favorite TV couple, were on the cover! I've seen every episode of The Office, and have rooted for Jim and Pam the whole time, and now in the sixth season, they are finally getting married, and having a baby! They're wedding episode is on Oct. 8th, so I'll end up watching it a few days later, or whenever they put it on

I am a huge Daniel Clowes fan! I have all of his books, and am in the process of collecting every issue of Eightball (eBay!). I even got the good fortune of waiting in line last year at Fantagraphics book store to get him to sign my copy of Ghost World: Special Edition. (look above).
Well, anyway, I was looking around the internet today and I found an article saying that next year Dan Clowes is coming out with a new graphic novel called Wilson, which will be published by Drawn + Quarterly. Its supposed to come out in May 2010, which means that its only 8 months until I can read something new from him!
